The Old Me:
Growing up I faced various obstacles. Peer pressure, bullying, and stress to excel in life. There was stress and anxiety that came from inside me too. I thought negatively about myself. I would sleep for extremely long hours. I began to dismiss any compliment given to me and believed all the negative things told to me. I questioned my self-worth and struggled to love myself.
I found it good, even cathartic, to distract myself from those feelings. I would read the bible, write, sing, or listen to music. However, when I wasn't doing one of these things, all of the negative emotions started to overwhelm me. Eventually, I realized, I needed to tackle the root of all of my stress and anxiety.
I started to examine myself and figure out what was truly stressing me out. Once I found the issue, I put in the work to start a healthy journey towards less stress and anxiety. Now, I know how to manage any stress and anxiety I have in my life and it no longer consumes me. That journey has given me the tools I need to help others.
Who I Am Now:
I am an effervescent, fun-loving, and caring person. I love hanging out with my friends, visiting different parts of the world, and communicating. 👀 Communicating? Yes, communicating! I want to do more than just talk to people. I really want to get to know the way they express themselves. I enjoy everything from learning a person's verbiage to understanding mumbled speech. I feel like it opens my mind to another person's world and I can better understand their life and the way they live it. This has been an amazing benefit to me.
As a teenager, I realized that the way I spoke to people made a difference in how they responded. Most importantly, the way I listened made a difference in how people responded to me. This made every turn in life a bit easier for me to navigate. For instance, when people bullied me, I learned their favorite phrases and used that phrase when they asked me a question. After I did that a few times, they thought I was cool. If a person was putting TOO MUCH pressure on me to succeed, I learned how to phrase my response. For example, I'd say: "I would love to reach that goal one day but right now I’m focusing on my short-term goal because it will give me a good foundation to attain my long-term goal. Also, when I got my first job, I worked as a cashier. Knowing my bosses' vernacular helped me to know how to speak to them when I needed time off.
Why am I telling you about how much I love communicating? I feel that this is one of the most important aspects of me. You are here because you want to be heard when you express your stress and anxiety. You want to understand the advice being given. You want to be able to accept and apply what you will learn. All of these things happen when a life coach communicates effectively. That is me! When I was a little girl, my dad told me “When someone is talking to you, paint a mental picture of what they are saying. You will understand what they are saying better.” Every word you speak is a brushstroke on my mind's canvas!
As a professionally trained and experienced online life coach, I have the tools and understanding to help you to create the life you imagine and get a renewed sense of self.
